BENJAMIN BROOK - Lives of the Puritans (3 vols)
In 1813, Benjamin Brook published his compilation of biographical sketches and biographies of many of the English Puritans. This set has been one of the most sought after and, at the same time, rirest to find on the used book market, often bringing hundreds of dollars for a set in good condition.
Benjamin Brook was a non-conformist divine and historian. In 1797 he entered Rotherdham College as a student for the ministry. In 1801 he became the first pastor of the congregationalist church at Tutbury. He resigned the ministry in 1830, due to ill health. He died near Birmingham, January 5, 1848, at the age of 72.
